Amongst 214 muscats, the Moscatel Roxo de Setúbal Do Venâncio Costa Lima was the one selected as the Best Muscat in this year edition of “Muscats du Monde”. This was the best of the 4 premiered muscats by this portuguese producer.
Muscats du Monde® 2017 contest was held between 5th and 6th of July in Frontignan-la-Peyrade, France. With an international jury composed by 55 specialists, 214 muscats from 25 countries were appreciated and evaluated.
Portugal was the second country that received more medals, after France, with 13 total medals- 7 gold and 6 silver.
In the Top 10 Muscats, more three are portuguese: Moscatel Roxo Pioneiro 2013 from Venâncio da Costa Lima, Moscatel Roxo de Setúbal Bacalhoa 5 anos from Bacalhoa Vinhos de Portugal and, at last, Moscatel do Douro Doc Adega de Favaios 1980 from Adega Cooperativa de Favaios.
It’s safe to say that portuguese lands and grapes have something special, with another landmark for Portuguese wines, this time, Muscats, with the quality approval of an International Competition with very high standards.
