5 Tips for your first Bike Tour

In all our years of experience, we’ve come to acknowledge that some of our first time clients are afraid they can’t do a biking tour. With them in mind, we’ve come up with some tips to help them not only finish the tour, but above all, to enjoy it.

1 – Trust yourself

Self-trust is paramount. We notice a lot of our first time clients are afraid they can’t ride that many miles or finish the routes. But the truth is they can, and once they do it, they become fans. Trust yourself.

2 – Don’t be ashamed of being tired

Our tours aren’t meant to drive you to exhaustion, they’re for relaxation and enjoyment of your holidays. It’s true we have our Challenge tours, but these are for a totally different type of travellers that already have thousands of miles on their record. For you, we have our Leisure and Family tours, designed to relax you and guide you through some of the most beautiful parts of the country by bike, so you can really enjoy and interact with the places. On top of that, you’ll always have our support van with you the entire time, so you don’t have to worry about a thing. Remember: this is a tour to be enjoyed and for you to relax.

3 – Focus on the moment and the scenery, not the exercise

On our Leisure and Family tours, exercise is a means to an end, not an end in itself. The ride exists so you can enjoy the views, and to take you places where you can taste the region’s wines and local cuisine. The exercise is not the point, and will never be exhausting. This is about having a good time.

4 – Enjoy your breaks

On our tours, we have breaks so you can taste a lunch prepared by our chef André on a natural setting, to visit vineyards where some of the world’s best wines are made, or to relax on some of the most luxurious hotels in the region. If you think of the rides as a means to get to these moments, you’ll never be short on motivation. We speak from experience of years of first-time riders that went on a tour with us.

5 – Have fun

This is it! On holidays, nothing is more important than for you to have fun. Give yourself to the moment and let your satisfaction and our help do the rest. You’ll be happy!

Follow these tips and you’ll soon be a fan of biking holidays. At the very least, you’ll want to try all of our tours.
